[Review: App] Doodle Jump
Doodle Jump is a app for the iPhone/iPod Touch that allows you to take the role as the "Doodler" as he jumps and fights his way through the varying levels of platforms and monsters.
The Doodle Jump controls are fairly simple. The app uses the iPhone/iPod Touch accelerometer to move the "Doodler" left and right. To fire your weppon ( which is his nose or something ) all you need is to tap the screen in the direction you wish the projectile to go and BAM! You've got a snot rocket like no other. Oh, and there's no need to worry about jumping, Mr. Doodler does that all on his own.
The gameplay actually is quite addicting. You'd think that jumping over and over on randomly set plaforms would bore you right? Good thing that's not the case here. Doodle Jump includes many different types of platforms ranging from breaking to moving ones. Also the monsters aren't all the same. Some stay in place and other will move in your path to try and hault your leaping adventures. There is even a few boss fights thrown in for some challenge.
This app like many others isn't short of features. The app includes a stats menu where you can check out your individual acoplishments and failures or the best score in the entire world! Also to keep things fresh and lively a few themes have been added. Some of these themes include jungle, Christmass, and even space!
Overall with this app being only $.99 it's a great deal. 4 out of 5
