[Review: App] TouchGrind
TouchGrind is an app for the iPhone/iPod Touch that uses multipull combinations of finger flicking physics to move, rotate, and flip your skateboard.
The controls for TouchGrind can be a bit hard to learn. To move your skateborad you must apply both fingers to the board and it will move in the direction you please. Although there are only four tricks to choose from, ( spin, roll, ollie, grind ) the flicking manuvers can be confusing and difficult to land. For exmaple when you roll your skateboard you must push you fingers back down on the board when it is right side up to land correctly.
The game includes one set area to unleash your inner skater. The map is full of jumps and grinds to help you obtain higher scores. Many types of game modes and features are also available. The main mode being Competition where you can try and acheive certain scores to unlock different types of skateboards ( you can even put your own pictures on a customized skateboard! ). Other modes include Warm Up, Jam Session, and the How To Play section.
In my own oppion it gets borring fast. It's alright if you play it like once in a blue moon. Other than that, the idea of it isn't so bad. 3 out of 5.
